Chiloquin man arrested for Arson

The following is a press release from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office

CHILOQUIN, Ore. - About 12:45 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021, Klamath County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 37000 block of Park View Dr near Chiloquin at the request of Chiloquin Fire & Rescue who was on the scene of a structure fire and encountered a subject armed with a knife interfering with fire suppression efforts.

Prior to deputies arriving on the scene, the subject was disarmed by firefighters with a fire hose. Fire and EMS personnel later treated the subject for superficial self-inflicted wounds. After arriving on scene deputies arrested Tazwell Sly-Kugar Garcia, 22 of Chiloquin, who is being lodged at the Klamath County Jail on charges including:

  • Arson 1st Degree

  • Menacing

  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon x2

  • Interference with a Firefighter

  • Parole Violation
