Cascadia Airlift training exercise hosted by the 173rd FW [VIDEO]

This week, Airmen from the 173rd Fighter Wing hosted crews from Yokota Airbase and Little Rock Air Force Base for the second annual Cascadia Airlift Exercise. Three C-130 aircraft staged on the ramp at Kingsley Field to practice supply airdrops over the Oregon Coast in a simulated disaster response after a major earthquake.

Crews also practiced loading and unloading equipment into and out of the C-130. Exercises like this help keep the Air National Guardsmen ready to respond in any crisis that they may face.

This was part of a larger scale exercise in preparation for a response to a Cascadia Subduction Zone event.
