KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — It’s not often a family can assemble five generations in one seating, but the Randolph family did it. The gathering marked the first time meeting of Twila Randolph with her great-great-granddaughter, Clairen, who was born last December.

Last month, the Randolph women, along with seventeen other family members, convened in Klamath Falls to celebrate Twila’s 85th birthday. Great-great-grandparents, Clain and Twila Randolph, who celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year, traveled from Porterville, Calif., for the gathering.

For the first time, the five generations of firstborn women assembled at the same place at the same time. Twila (Claudson) Randolph, great-great-grandmother; Brenda (Randolph) Green, great-grandmother, Stacey (Green) Powless, grandmother; Shayna Powless, mother; and Clairen Idrogo daughter.

“She was thrilled,” Shayna said, although Twila had been clamoring to see the baby ever since she had been born.

A total of 84 years and 4 months separate the baby and her great-great-grandmother.

Clain and Twila have a total of three daughters, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and the new great-great-grandchild and they were overjoyed to become great-great-grandparents.

Twila was born in Grants Pass, Ore.; Brenda was born in Lakeview, Ore.; Stacy was born in Porterville, Calif.; Shayna and Clairen were born in Klamath Falls, Ore. Of the five living generations, all but one, great-great-grandmother Twila, call Klamath Falls home.
