KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Mark Chesnutt will kick off the Ross Ragland Theater’s 30th Anniversary Season on September 28 and they could not be more excited. In the days before Chesnutt’s performance, the Ragland Big Screen features to special presentations and the Rag Tag Children’s Choir returns.
“It’s almost the official launch of the theaters 30th Anniversary Season and we are more than excited, says Terra Russo, Director of Development and Marketing. “Mark Chesnutt puts on a dynamite show every time. A true professional!”

Ragland Big Screen
Before the season officially kicks off the Ragland Big Screen will host two shows, Frankenstein and Shattered: A Journey into a Silent Past.
‘Frankenstein’
Friday, September 20th at 7:00pm, Frankenstein returns to international cinemas to mark the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s most famous novel.
Captured live in 2011 from the National Theatre stage in London, this thrilling, sold-out production became an international sensation, experienced by almost half a million people in cinemas around the world. Directed by Academy Award®-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch (Hamlet, BBC’s Sherlock) and Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary, Trainspotting) alternating between the roles of Victor Frankenstein and his creation.
Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the increasingly desperate and vengeful Creature determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal. Scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil, are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic tale.
Frankenstein has a BBFC rating of 15, and contains a scene of sexual violence.
The Ross Ragland Theater will offer trivia and prizes before the show starts in the theater.

Shattered: Journey into a Silent Past
Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00pm, The Ross Ragland Theater will host a very special event Centered around the documentary “Shattered: Journey Into a Silent Past.”
The film follows the fate of Salem’s Britta Franz and her sister Marianne who were Jewish in Germany in 1937.
At ages 9 and 12, they were forced to flee the town of Aachen. The filmmaker takes you back with Britta and Marianne as they travel back to visit their old family store and piece together the traces of their relatives who didn’t survive escaping the Nazis. This is a Film by Walter Wehmeyer
This event is a fundraiser and all proceeds will go to the theater’s “Relight the Tower “campaign.

Rag Tag Children’s Choir
Returning to the Ross Ragland Theater is the ‘Rag Tag Children’s Choir.’
Instructor, Danielle Harmon, introduces and educates children grades K-6th where they explore the wonderful world of choral music, learn vocal techniques, music appreciation, and participate in a high energy performance on the Ragland’s premiere performing arts stage!
Classes begin September 9th and continue through November 18. K-3 Monday’s 4:00-4:45 PM; 4th-6th Monday’s, 5:00-6:00 PM. Showcase will be on Friday, November 22nd, 2019
