Klamath Falls, Ore. - The 2017 rendition of the Canal Bowl did not disappoint - conference play, homecoming, female kickers, all elevated a rowdy cross town rivalry.

Both teams started the game of slowly but KU led at half and Mazama found its self trailing at home 12-6.

Halftime featured the annual Homecoming Ceremony and a performance of Thriller by the Mazama Marching Band.

The Mazama defense stepped up during the second half and proved to be too much for Klamath Union's offence to overcome. The Viking "D" shut down the Pelicans and kept them for putting any further points on the scoreboard.

The Viking Offence used this to their advantage pounding the ball on the ground and through the air.  When the dust settled Mazama came out victorious on the Skyline Conference match-up.

The final score: Mazama wins over Klamath Union at home 25-12.
