19-year-old Chiloquin man arrested in shooting that injured two people

 

The following is a press release from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.

CHILOQUIN, Ore. - On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 1:14 AM, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported disturbance. Involving a male subject breaking windows at a residence in the 200 block of Lalo Avenue, in Chiloquin.

While deputies were en route, a second caller reported that shots were being fired in the area and it was indicated that two people had been struck by gunfire.

When KCSO Deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a 21-year-old male had been shot in the leg and left side by a shotgun. He was treated by deputies on the scene.

While deputies were looking for the shooter, a second male, 23-years-old, was located. The second male had also been shot. Both were transported by Chiloquin Fire & Rescue to Sky lakes Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that 19-year-old Stone Reed was responsible for the shooting. Deputies later located Stone Reed during a traffic stop on West Chocktoot Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Stone Reed was lodged at the Klamath County Jail for - Attempted Assault I (x2), Assault II (x2), and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (x2).
