173rd Fighter Wing confirms COVID-19 case on Kingsley Field

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The 173rd Fighter Wing holds high value in their mission to train F-15 Pilots, Support Combat Operations and serve Oregon. Today, the 173rd confirmed a case of COVID-19 at Kingsley Field.

“We can confirm that there has been a positive COVID-19 case on Kingsley Field,” said Kingsley Field Public Affairs Superintendent, Sgt. Jennifer Shirar.

“The continued safety and well-being of the installation is our top priority, continued Sgt. Shirar. “We are working with our base medical staff and off-base health care agencies to ensure we mitigate the effects of COVID-19 using established Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Defense Department guidelines.”

The 173rd’s Medical Group along with public health officials are actively tracing the member’s recent movements and contacts in conjunction with local health authorities.

“Anyone considered to have been exposed to increased risk will be contacted directly,” said Sgt. Shirar.
